Nesting software arranges the parts from your DXF files on sheets so they use as little material as possible. GoNesting uses true-shape nesting: parts are packed by their real outline and holes, not by a rectangle drawn around them, and small parts can be placed inside the cut-outs of larger ones.
Yes. A free account includes 5 nesting runs with the full engine, DXF export and the PDF report. There is no card to enter and nothing to install. The 5 runs are a one-off allowance, not a monthly one, and re-running a job with different settings uses a run.
DXF files saved in ASCII (text) format, up to 20 MB each, and you can upload several at once. GoNesting reads lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, splines, polylines and blocks. DWG, SVG and binary DXF files are not supported, so export an ASCII DXF from your CAD program.
No. GoNesting nests your parts and exports DXF files, one per sheet. You open those in your existing CAM software to add toolpaths, lead-ins and machine settings.

No. You sign in from a web browser. Your DXF files are uploaded to our server so the parts can be read and the export files built; the nesting itself runs in your browser, on your own computer’s processor cores.
It depends on how many parts there are, how detailed their outlines are and how many rotation angles you allow. The 188-part sheet at the top of this page took 8 seconds on a 6-core desktop computer, while one comparison job with a very detailed outline took about two minutes. You can watch the progress and stop a run.
There is no offcut inventory. You can enter an offcut’s size as a custom sheet for a job, and parts are nested on it like any other sheet.
It depends on your parts. The mixed 188-part sheet above used 86.9% of the material with a 1 mm gap. In our comparison tests, true-shape results ranged from 29.7% on a very open ornamental part to 90.6% on near-rectangular plates. Material used is the part area minus cut-outs, divided by the sheet area.
Your files are uploaded to our server under your account so the parts can be read and exported. We do not share them or use them for anything else. The privacy policy explains what is stored.
Email info@gonesting.com from the address you signed up with. We switch Pro on for your account and reply to confirm; there is no online checkout. Pro is ₹600 a month and removes the 5-run limit.
